Mental Health Conversations
Mental Health Conversations is a report prepared by our Mental Health Development Officer, Alison Mitchell. During 2018 Alison talked to 23 Quakers who have lived experience of mental health problems. The Friends talked about their experiences, about how they had been accepted or not in their community and about their experiences of mental health services. They went on to discuss connections they feel between their mental health and their spirtual life and how they have been able to explore that within Quakers. Some Friends felt well supported by their Quaker Meeting - and some felt let down, ignored or patronised.
This report asks the question: 'What is our Quaker ministry on mental health?'
You can download a pdf copy of the report. There will be a hard copy in your local meeting and you can get more copies from the Quaker bookshop.
